Update #1 - 3 years ago
Thank you, GOLD alums, for the many ways in which you participated in the first ever GOLD month.
With support from your peers, we took a chance on shaking things up this year—and you made it all worth it. Whether you took the survey, asked tough questions, updated your contact information, attended or hosted one of the 13 events across the country, shared your thoughts, engaged with us on @ThacherCdeP, or donated during March Magic, we thank you for showing up. Your ideas and feedback matter to us, and it is because of that partnership that the first ever GOLD month was a success.
In addition, we can’t thank you enough for making an immediate impact for current students by supporting financial aid, community and belonging, the arts and athletics, or academics and signature programming. Thank you for contributing to their education and experience.
Thank you again for showing up, providing support, and paying it forward!

About
March is GOLD month!
Throughout the month, Thacher will be celebrating you, our GOLD alums—graduates of the last decade—and the many ways you have made, and continue to make, an impact at Thacher. No matter your distance from Casa de Piedra in years or geography, you have played a part in shaping this community. Now, please join us in taking a leap of faith, hope, and optimism, as we ask, think about, and imagine the answer to the question Head of School Blossom Beatty Pidduck CdeP 1992 posed to the Class of 2020 at their Commencement last summer: How good can it get at Thacher?
Seeking GOLD feedback
Click here to complete a brief survey and share with us any class notes, life updates, reflections on your experience as an alum, what you’d like to see from Thacher in the future, areas of the Thacher experience that were the most transformative as a student, opportunities for growth, and any other information you would like to provide.
In addition, you are invited to set up a 1:1 call with Chanelle Walker, Director of Alumni Engagement, to provide any additional or specific feedback, questions, concerns, hopes, and dreams. Click here to sign up for a time that works best for you.
GOLD giving
Show your support for the program(s) at Thacher that mean the most to you. All gifts received for March Magic and the Annual Fund go toward the everyday experiences of our Toads. Your gift can be directed toward financial aid, community and belonging (DEI, mental health, student life), sustainability, faculty support, horse and backcountry programs, arts, athletics, or area of greatest need. Plus—every gift is matched $25 to the area you designate, so you can increase your impact. Current students need your help to make their education at Casa de Piedra possible. Please make your gift today.
GOLD gatherings
We’re excited to provide opportunities for you to connect with your fellow GOLD alums. Please take a look at the events listed below. Click here to RSVP. Special thanks to the GOLD alums who have helped to coordinate these events: Lauren Butler CdeP 2012, Lily Boyle CdeP 2014, Lexie Kirkwood CdeP 2014, Tucker Bennett CdeP 2016, Liam Kirkpatrick CdeP 2017, Eric Oregel CdeP 2017, and Colin Kirkpatrick CdeP 2019.
There are also several discussions around culture and community being offered throughout the month with our partners, Learning Courage and Amikaeyla Gaston. You are invited to join the conversation with these trauma-informed experts as we seek to provide a safe space to acknowledge the harm done, process with other alums, and carve a path to strengthening School culture. Click here to learn more about the framework for these calls and sign up for a session.
