With gratitude for three Thacher women who have deeply impacted my life: Katherine Halsey, Robin Walter, and Sydney Bowie. And to the horses, for they have taught me much.

For me, the outdoor program at Thacher provided many memorable adventures and instilled a lifelong love of camping, outdoor activities, and respect of and enjoyment for nature. Having just returned from a week of backpacking, I am grateful for the skills first learned in high school. I believe the outdoor program fosters appreciation for the environment and helps instill a sense of environmental stewardship. In today’s world, that is of paramount importance. Thank you!
